For the rook, navel or intimate areas you will need: a threadless curved barbell

For the nose and lips you will need: a threadless flat back post

For average sizing:

For most nose piercings an 18g is worn.

For most lip and ear piercings a 16g is worn. 

For most inner oral and navel piercings a 14g is worn.

For most nose, helix, forward helix, conch, tragus and rook piercings, a 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" for more room is worn.

For most lip and navel piercings a 3/8" or 7/16" is worn.

For most septum piercings a 5/16", 3/8" or 7/16" is worn.

For most intimate piercings a 3/8" or 7/16" is worn.

For most nipple and tongue piercings a 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", or 3/4" is worn.
